Terrafirma’s new trucks on their way!
Terrafirma Roadways are in the process of heavily investing in a new fleet of state-of-the-art trucks, to improve the delivery and recovery of the DuraBase mat system .
The new fleet comprises of 5 Renault Lander Premium 430-26 6X4 units and 1 MAN TGS 26 6X4 unit, originally Terrafirma was looking to purchase 5 trucks. The Renault was selected for its robust construction, large and simple cab layout, allowing 2 crew members to overnight in comfort, Renault’s alliance with Volvo was also a persuading factor. Fuel economy was very high on Terrafirma Roadways list of must haves and during tests the Renault preformed well.
The MAN was a very close second to the Renault, MAN came back to Terrafirma with a very special deal, so we decided to try one truck. Over the next few months we will be able to compare like with like regarding fuel economy, running costs etc, this information will then be used to guide our next truck purchase.
As we started with a clean piece of paper regarding the design, no compromise was made; it had to be Safer, Better, Leaner and Faster.
